UPSL Announces Virginia Expansion with Lynchburg FC

Lynchburg, VA-Based Club Joins UPSL for the 2021 Spring Season

October 7, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Lynchburg FC as a new member.

Based in Lynchburg, VA, Lynchburg FC will begin UPSL play with the 2021 Spring Season as part of the Northeast Conference Beltway Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at City Stadium (3176 Fort Ave. Lynchburg, VA 24501).

UPSL Northeast Conference Manager Paul Konneh said, "We are excited to welcome Lynchburg FC to the Beltway DIvision. We are aggressively growing the Beltway Division and the demand we are receiving from clubs is encouraging. They're pleased to have an alternative to the current structure and the UPSL Beltway Division has proven its place on the national level. We look forward to the 2021 Spring Season and wish Lynchburg FC success as it prepares to kick off."

Carlos Munoz serves as President of Lynchburg FC. Greg White is General Manage and Interim Head Coach. R.J. Goodwin is Director of Communications.

Lynchburg has been cultivating its soccer culture for some time so submitting a team into such a competitive league was a natural next step," Munoz said. "Elevating the level of play in our town is important to us and the 2021 Spring Season is an exciting opportunity for us to do that."
